JD(U) Chief Spokesperson Neeraj Kumar on Saturday, 19 September 2026, launched a sharp personal attack on party MLA Anant Singh from Mokama, after Singh publicly announced his intent to oppose Kumar in the upcoming Patna Graduate constituency Legislative Council election. Kumar said Singh 'deserves sympathy' and does not even know how to write 'Assembly' or 'Legislative Council'.

The Insults Fly

Kumar pulled no punches in his remarks, suggesting that if there were a 'Maha Murkh Sammelan' — loosely, a 'grand gathering of fools' — Singh should be its chief guest. 'When there is a Maha Murkh Sammelan, its chief guest should be someone who has been a sant of Beur Jail,' Kumar said, in a pointed reference to Singh's criminal record and past incarceration.

He went on to contrast Singh's standing with that of senior party leaders. 'Bihar Legislative Council member Nitish Kumar has continuously served as the Chief Minister of the state, while Samrat Choudhary has been a Member of the Legislative Council and has also served as Deputy Chief Minister... What is the relevance of the House? Rabri Devi is the Leader of the Opposition. What does this poor fellow have?' Kumar said.

Criminal Background Allegation

Kumar also alleged that Singh was associating with individuals having criminal backgrounds. 'You are roaming around with goons. All such people will be seen as it is the rule of law and order,' he said, warning that such activities would be dealt with under the law.

He further questioned Singh's understanding of basic legislative and financial concepts. 'Does he even understand what a budget is, what a revenue deficit is, what revenue receipts are, or what a fiscal deficit is? He is a complete failure in all this,' Kumar said.

EBC Card and Political Loyalty

Kumar went on to accuse Singh of being anti-Extremely Backward Classes (EBC), alleging that Singh had previously engineered the cutting of a ticket meant for an EBC candidate. 'He himself has admitted that the ticket of an Extremely Backward Class candidate was cut. What does that mean? He is anti-EBC,' Kumar said. He added that anyone who refuses to accept the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would be regarded as 'a political traitor to the Janata Party'.

'We have openly rejected the offer. We are with the NDA, and the leader of our party is Nishant Kumar. The Samrat-Nishant duo has created such a stir in Bihar's politics that now political opponents are making all kinds of offers. But the offer is rejected,' Kumar said.
