Los Angeles, Nov 8 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner has strongly refuted claims of sending inappropriate sexual messages to Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou.
The actor responded to the accusations made against him by Zhou, who collaborated with Renner on the documentary 'Chronicles of Disney' and an animated project, according to 'People' magazine.
Zhou alleged in a series of Instagram posts that the actor, aged 54, dispatched "a series of unwanted/unsolicited pornographic images of himself" via DMs and WhatsApp in June. When confronted, he purportedly "threatened to contact immigration/ICE" regarding her.
A spokesperson for Renner informed 'People' that, "The allegations are absolutely false and unfounded.” Renner's attorney, Marty Singer, refuted Zhou's claims, labeling them as "false, outrageous, and extremely defamatory.”
According to the legal representative, Zhou is retaliating against Renner after he "declined her romantic advances" and did not endorse her projects on social media.
As reported by 'People', Singer claimed that Renner and Zhou met once in July at a hotel in Reno, Nevada, during which Renner was interviewed for her documentary, and they shared a “brief consensual encounter.”
The two met a second time in August, and Singer stated that Renner has not communicated with her for over a month, having ignored her supposed "sexually explicit messages declaring her affection.”
Zhou's latest message was reportedly sent on October 24. In response to her allegations that Renner threatened to contact ICE, Singer claimed that Zhou "has been persistently harassing and threatening my client with numerous unsolicited messages.”
As of now, Zhou has not addressed the assertions made by Renner's legal counsel.
“The reality is that Ms. Zhou has persistently and aggressively pursued my client for months without any reciprocation from him, other than a brief encounter on July 12, 2025,” Singer further stated.
