Ranchi, March 12 (NationPress) Following the recent killing of infamous gangster Aman Sahu during an encounter, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren led a significant review meeting on Wednesday with senior police and administrative officials at the Secretariat to evaluate the law and order situation in the state.
He instructed officials to implement all necessary measures to secure a crime-free environment and uphold public safety.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of peaceful observances during upcoming festivals such as Holi, Ramzan, Eid, Sarhul, and Ram Navami.
He ordered the deployment of sufficient security forces, the use of drone surveillance in sensitive areas, and the prompt action against any anti-social elements.
"The police must stay vigilant and be well-prepared to avert any incidents, communal tensions, or disputes," Soren stated.
He highlighted the necessity of special attention in areas that are prone to communal sensitivities and directed officials to conduct regular meetings with peace committees to encourage community collaboration.
Additionally, he mandated the presence of police personnel at crowded and religious sites while ensuring close monitoring of miscreants. "Strict measures should be enforced against those attempting to disrupt social harmony," he emphasized.
The Chief Minister pointed out the essential need for diligent monitoring of social media during festivals to prevent the dissemination of rumors and misinformation.
The meeting also explored initiatives like the installation of CCTV cameras and electronic surveillance around religious locations, adequate lighting and public announcement systems along procession routes, as well as the readiness of anti-riot vehicles and water cannons in various districts.
During the meeting, Director General of Police Anurag Gupta provided a report on the strategies currently being utilized for crime management and ongoing enforcement efforts.
