Los Angeles, Aug 6 (NationPress) Singer-songwriter Joe Jonas has shared insights on nurturing his two daughters and how his upbringing with only brothers has transformed his viewpoint on parenting.
The 35-year-old, along with his brothers Nick (32) and Kevin (37), delved into their sibling dynamics and parental experiences during an episode of Amy Poehler’s podcast ‘Good Hang’. Joe opened up about the contrasts between raising his daughters, Willa (5) and Delphine (3), with his ex-wife Sophie Turner, and his childhood as one of four boys.
“Boys are so different than girls,” Joe remarked. “I observe my kids on the playground, and it's, like, delicate. Then you see a boy who’s like, ‘Ahh!’ and dives off the slide. And you think, ‘That’s a boy!’”
Poehler, a mother to two boys, quipped, “Your frontal lobes close later.” The 53-year-old shares sons Archie (16) and Abel (14) with ex-husband Will Arnett. Joe recognized how his background, growing up in a household of four boys including his youngest brother Frankie (24), shaped his parenting style.
According to ‘People’, Joe credited their “superstar” mother, Denise, for managing four sons effectively.
“Four boys in one house. She was the boss, you know,” Joe stated, emphasizing how she fostered an “understanding of how to treat women well.” “We needed a strong voice like hers to ensure we weren’t, like, pieces of s***. I believe that was vital.”
Joe and Turner welcomed their two daughters during their marriage from 2019 to 2023. Kevin and his wife Danielle Jonas also have two daughters, Alena Rose (11) and Valentina Angelina (8). Nick is a father to daughter Malti (3), shared with his wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
