New Delhi, April 18 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday assured strict action in the brutal murder of a 17-year-old boy in the New Seelampur area of the national capital, asserting that the family will receive justice.
CM Gupta stated, “I have personally spoken to the Police Commissioner. The victim, Kunal, was attacked with a knife and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Those responsible for this heinous act will be apprehended shortly. The family will receive full justice, and there will be no deficiencies. An FIR has been filed.”
The incident transpired around 7:38 p.m. on Thursday in J-Block of New Seelampur, when the victim, identified as Kunal, son of Rajveer and a resident of the same neighborhood, was reportedly assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon. According to police officials, the local police station (PS Seelampur) was notified of the stabbing shortly after it occurred.
Kunal was quickly transported to JPC Hospital for treatment, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
DCP (Traffic) Shashank Jaiswal visited the crime scene to evaluate the situation and oversee the ongoing investigation.
As per the victim's sister, a woman named Zikra, who had just been released from jail three months ago, is implicated.
“He was my younger brother. He stepped out to buy milk because he felt hungry. Someone called him outside. The perpetrator is on the run. A female don, Zikra, who was released from jail recently, is involved,” the victim’s sister informed IANS.
Kunal's mother recounted, "He returned home after discharging his grandmother from the hospital yesterday at 5 p.m. He went out to fetch milk, and at that moment, a kid came rushing to us, saying some boys and a girl were stabbing your son badly; my son needs justice."
Police have filed an FIR in the matter and initiated a search operation to apprehend the offenders. Officials confirmed they are reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity and inquiring with local residents and potential witnesses to reconstruct the timeline leading up to the murder.
