Key Takeaways
Jamshedpur, Jan 27 (NationPress) - Kairav Gandhi, a 24-year-old son of prominent businessman Devang Gandhi from Jamshedpur, has been successfully rescued 14 days after his abduction, according to officials on Tuesday.
He arrived back at his residence in Jamshedpur around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
As reported by the police, he was discovered in an area between Hazaribagh in Jharkhand and Gaya in Bihar.
Jamshedpur SSP Piyush Pandey confirmed that the young entrepreneur's safe recovery was a top priority for law enforcement, which has been successfully achieved.
He mentioned that ongoing raids and technical investigations are in progress to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible. The police are meticulously examining all facets of the case to ensure a comprehensive resolution.
Kairav Gandhi, residing in the CH area of Jamshedpur, was kidnapped on January 13 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. after he left home in his Creta car. He had notified his family of his plans to visit SBI Bank in Bistupur, then proceed to his company in Adityapur, and return home for lunch.
When he failed to return by 1:45 p.m. and his phone was found turned off, his family began searching for him. Shortly after, they received a call from an international number revealing Kairav's kidnapping and demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore, which later escalated to Rs 10 crore.
In response to the severity of the situation, the Jharkhand Police formed seven Special Investigation Teams (SITs) that conducted extensive raids not only in Jharkhand but also in Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand DGP Tadasha Mishra personally visited Jamshedpur two days ago to evaluate the actions taken and the progress of the investigation into the kidnapping.
The safe return of Kairav Gandhi has brought relief to the entire city. However, it remains unclear whether his release was solely due to police efforts or also influenced by family actions. A press conference from the police is expected soon to disclose further details of the case.
