Bengaluru, May 8 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP declared on Thursday its unwavering support for the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) candidates in their battle against ‘injustice’.

During a press conference at the BJP state headquarters in Bengaluru, Narayanaswamy revealed that he convened a meeting with KPSC aspirants alongside BJP state President B.Y. Vijayendra and Council Chief Whip N. Ravikumar, where the candidates expressed their concerns.

Narayanaswamy stated, “The BJP will back KPSC exam candidates in their struggle against injustice, no matter what form of protest they choose.”

He highlighted that approximately 70,000 candidates took the examination in the Kannada medium.

There were about 70 to 80 errors in the printed questions, leading to considerable challenges for the candidates.

“While only a few have approached the court, a re-examination has been mandated,” he noted.

Narayanaswamy criticized the government for its contradictory statements.

“When questioned in the Upper House, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah claimed to support the students. He stated that a re-exam would occur based on the court’s ruling. However, even after the court's directive, the government is stalling,” he asserted.

He also mentioned that during the recent examination, answer sheets did not arrive at centers punctually.

“When students raised concerns about the delay, police resorted to violence, forcibly detaining them,”

he recounted.

“Is it appropriate to arrest students for seeking answers? Is it right to use law enforcement to silence them?” he inquired.

“They continue to retain former officials who were adept at misappropriation,” he alleged.

“These officials are kept on for one, two, three, and even up to six or seven years post-retirement. The reason for this is their distrust of newcomers, as they lack the experience in corruption,” he claimed.

On May 6, the Karnataka BJP held the Congress-led state government accountable for the purported question paper leak during the KPSC examination.

B.Y. Vijayendra described the KPSC as a “cesspool of irregularities and mismanagement” under the Karnataka government's “maladministration.”

He argued that countless Kannada-medium candidates have already faced severe injustice due to translation errors in the preliminary exam, re-exam, and main exam, asserting that yet another blunder jeopardizes the futures of job seekers, inciting public outrage.

Point of View

The situation surrounding the KPSC examinations highlights critical concerns about transparency and fairness in competitive assessments. The BJP's involvement underscores the importance of political accountability, while the aspirants' struggles reflect a broader issue of systemic challenges within educational and governmental institutions.
