Bengaluru, Nov 27 (NationPress) In light of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge's recent statements regarding the power-sharing debate, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the position of State Congress President, D.K. Shivakumar, declared on Thursday their readiness to travel to Delhi if summoned by the high command.

In a significant turn of events, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge mentioned earlier that both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar would be called to Delhi, where the issue would be amicably settled after discussions with senior party leaders.

Addressing reporters in Bengaluru prior to his departure for Delhi, Kharge stated, “We will convene three to four leaders and conduct meetings. The matter will be resolved. Discussions will occur in everyone's presence, leading to a decision.”

During an event at his residence 'Krishna', Chief Minister Siddaramaiah affirmed that he would comply with the high command's call to Delhi. He emphasized his commitment to accept whatever resolution the high command decides.

When questioned regarding Kharge's remarks and the support expressed by Vokkaliga seer Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji for Shivakumar’s candidacy for the Chief Minister role, Siddaramaiah consistently reiterated his willingness to go to Delhi if requested.

In response to Kharge’s announcement, Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar echoed, “Both the Chief Minister and I will confer, and we will proceed. If called, we will attend.”

Regarding a social media post on X about “keeping one’s word,” Shivakumar stated he had not made such a post.

When confronted about its appearance on his account, he insisted he was not responsible for the post. Asked if it was a fake, he affirmed, “Yes. I haven’t made any comment about any ‘promise that was made’.”

Meanwhile, Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, the son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, remarked in Mysuru that there is currently no progression concerning a leadership transition in the state. “CM Siddaramaiah is delivering effective governance. There’s no necessity for a change. Nonetheless, certain leaders have expressed interest in the CM position. The high command must make the final decision.”

“At this juncture, it is inappropriate for us to speculate. The high command will make a determination,” he stated.

When inquired if CM Siddaramaiah would fulfill a five-year term, Yathindra expressed confidence that the high command would make a decision. “In my view, I am convinced that CM Siddaramaiah will complete his five-year term,” he added.

When asked about the Vokkaliga seer’s request to appoint Shivakumar as CM, he asserted, “The choice regarding who should be the Chief Minister must be made by our party leaders. Others are not in a position to decide.”

On inquiries about the number of MLAs supporting CM Siddaramaiah, he refrained from commenting publicly. He also indicated he was unaware of any power-sharing agreement between CM Siddaramaiah and Dy CM Shivakumar for an equal division of the five-year term. “Neither CM Siddaramaiah nor any other leader has informed me about power-sharing,” he noted.

“There are no grievances against him (CM Siddaramaiah). The call for a leadership change is unwarranted and should not exist. The high command will make a decision,” he concluded.
