Thiruvananthapuram, March 9 (NationPress) A personal conflict involving Kerala's Transport Minister, K. B. Ganesh Kumar, and his spouse, Bindu Menon, has become public following a series of serious allegations she made regarding an incident at their residence in Valakom. This has ignited political discussions and raised concerns about the police's inaction.

Menon mentioned that the couple has faced marital challenges before, notably around 2019, years after their 2014 marriage.

However, she claims that their issues escalated after Ganesh Kumar assumed ministerial duties, asserting that his associates and staff gradually turned against her.

"Naturally, everyone aligns with power," she remarked, indicating that domestic disagreements have become more pronounced recently.

According to her, she previously confronted the minister regarding women's issues and even blocked the contact numbers of some of his staff.

Menon stated that the latest incident occurred when she discreetly entered their bedroom at the Valakom home, located approximately 70 km from the state capital, and encountered a scenario that prompted her to take photographs.

She alleged that the minister's driver attempted to stop her from photographing while some staff members tried to seize her mobile device.

"I lost emotional control, but I did not physically assault anyone or use offensive language," she clarified, stating that the minister later depicted her as mentally unstable.

She reported the situation to her sister-in-law and reached out to the police control room for assistance.

According to her account, she ran outside the house, crying for help, shortly before the woman present with the minister was driven away by his driver.

Police later arrived but, as per Bindu Menon, they informed her that the issue was outside their jurisdiction.

She mentioned requesting protection, noting that certain members of the minister's team encouraged her to forgive him and reconcile.

While she claims to possess photographic evidence, Menon clarified that legal action against the minister or the government is not her intention.

"I also contacted Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter, Veena, to inform her about the situation, and she has all the photographs," she added.

In response to the unfolding controversy, Ganesh Kumar stated that the allegations circulating on social media are politically motivated attempts to gain an advantage ahead of elections.

"Regardless of their truth, these are personal matters, and external interference is unwarranted," he asserted, adding that he has never acted inappropriately toward any woman.

"Love is not a crime. Everyone experiences love, and it will persist," he continued.

He also emphasized his integrity as a public servant, asserting that he has never been involved in corruption.

He believes the people of Pathanapuram will not be swayed by such accusations as they know him well.

This incident has garnered attention partly because Ganesh Kumar resigned from his ministerial position in 2013 under the Oommen Chandy government after facing serious allegations from his first wife.
