New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) The Delhi Police have apprehended Rohit Solanki, the primary suspect in the shooting incident targeting the legal representatives of infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

The shooting occurred last Tuesday in the vicinity of the Marghat Baba Temple situated in the Kashmiri Gate area of North Delhi, resulting in one individual being injured and raising alarms about the safety of lawyers managing high-profile gangster-related cases.

As per reports from Delhi Police, late on the night of February 24, advocate Deepak Khatri was heading home from the temple in a vehicle with his team when gunmen associated with Rajasthan gangster Rohit Godhara opened fire.

Evidence from CCTV footage and statements from witnesses reveal that three attackers on motorcycles discharged six bullets at the car from behind. The vehicle was occupied by five individuals, including Khatri. During the altercation, a young man named Sandeep was struck by two bullets and is presently receiving treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, while Khatri narrowly avoided injury.

The assailants are reported to have fled the scene on their motorcycles. Following the attack, Rohit Godhara has allegedly been issuing threats to Khatri and his family through phone calls from abroad, prompting the lawyer to urgently request security for himself and his household. Unfortunately, authorities have yet to provide any protection.

According to Northern Delhi DCP Raja Banthia, the police are actively working on the case by analyzing CCTV footage and gathering information from informants. Responsibility for the attack was claimed on February 25 by Rohit Godhara, along with gang members Naveen Bakser, Rahul Fatehpur, and Sunny Yama. In a social media post, the gang asserted that the attack was a retaliatory action due to Khatri allegedly sharing information with law enforcement.

The capture of Rohit Solanki is anticipated to be a significant advancement in this investigation. Authorities are still pursuing the remaining suspects and examining possible connections between multiple gangs operating in Delhi and Rajasthan. Legal professionals have voiced concerns about the increasing threats to attorneys managing high-profile organized crime cases, emphasizing the urgent necessity for improved security measures for those in the legal field.
