Mumbai, Jan 11 (NationPress) Renowned actor Anupam Kher shared insights on why his cohort, specifically those born in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, is indeed 'unique'.
In a recent social media update, Kher highlighted that although their talents might be deemed obsolete by younger generations, including their own children, it is their life experiences that set them apart.
The actor known for his role in 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' expressed in a video, "We have witnessed eight distinct decades. We have experienced two separate centuries and indeed, have lived through two different millennia."
Kher elaborated on how their generation has navigated a monumental technological evolution—from gramophone records to Spotify, from radio to 3D and HD TV, and from handwritten letters to WhatsApp, as well as from cassettes to OTT platforms.
"We have come a long way from telephone operators to mobile phones and video calls. We transitioned from gramophone records to YouTube and Spotify, and from telegrams to emails and WhatsApp. We have enjoyed live sports broadcasts on radio, transitioned from black-and-white to color TVs, and now indulge in 3D and HD viewing. We used to rent movies on cassettes, and today everything is accessible at home through our mobiles or OTT services. We have also moved from floppy disks to MBs and GBs. In our youth, we wore shorts, later Oxford flares, and now we proudly wear jeans," he added.
Kher emphasized the health challenges they have overcome.
He stated, "Our generation has faced paralysis, meningitis, polio, tuberculosis, swine flu, and have even triumphed over COVID-19."
Kher noted, "Our childhood may have been analog, but our adulthood is entirely digital. Yes, we have faced numerous hurdles, but what a remarkable life we have led."
He concluded by recognizing his generation's adaptability to change.
"Let’s give a hearty round of applause to all members of this unique generation, who have always been and will remain exceptional," Kher wrapped up.
