New Delhi, Dec 13 (NationPress) On Saturday, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju appealed to Indian Muslims intending to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in 2026 to make their arrangements well ahead of time and select only authorised Hajj Group Organisers (HGOs) or Private Tour Operators (PTOs).
This request was communicated through an official notice from the minister on X, which underscored significant timelines set by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Hajj-2026.
As per the notice, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has designated February 1, 2026, as the deadline for finalising housing and service agreements for Hajj pilgrims.
These agreements encompass accommodation, transportation, and other vital logistical arrangements in Saudi Arabia, which are essential for the smooth execution of the pilgrimage.
In light of these timeframes, the notice strongly encourages all potential pilgrims choosing to travel via private HGOs or PTOs to secure their bookings ahead of time.
The importance of timely bookings is emphasised so that operators can fulfil procedural requirements and finalise contracts within the timelines set by Saudi authorities.
“All pilgrims should aim to complete their booking formalities by January 15, 2026, to ensure the finalisation of necessary housing and service contracts within the designated deadline, thereby avoiding last-minute complications and ensuring timely completion of all mandatory processes,” the notice stated.
In sharing this advisory, Rijiju emphasized that it is aimed at providing a smooth experience for Indian private Hajj pilgrims.
“I encourage all Indian private Hajj pilgrims to apply early and select only authorised Hajj Group Organisers or PTOs. Making timely bookings by January 15, 2026, will help prevent last-minute challenges and guarantee well-organised arrangements for this sacred journey,” he remarked.
The notice also warns pilgrims to check the registration status, quota allocation, and approval of the chosen HGO or PTO before making any payments.
Pilgrims are advised to book exclusively through operators approved by the relevant authorities to avoid fraud or logistical complications.
Each year, a considerable number of Indian pilgrims undertake Hajj with private tour operators.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs has consistently highlighted the importance of early planning and compliance with official guidelines to ensure a safe, organised, and seamless experience for pilgrims on their annual religious journey.
