How is Kolkata Police Supporting Students During Madhyamik Exams?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kolkata, Feb 1 (NationPress) As the Madhyamik examinations kick off in West Bengal starting February 2, the Kolkata Police have initiated a dedicated helpline to support students during this crucial period.
Students facing challenges in reaching their examination centres can contact the helpline for immediate assistance, as police officers will be dispatched to help.
In case of any unforeseen issues, such as forgetting an admit card or running late, students can dial 9432610039 for help, as confirmed by the Kolkata Police.
Additionally, ambulances will be positioned on key routes throughout the city to ensure that any student who falls ill can be swiftly transported to a hospital.
To further assist during this time, the state government has arranged for extra buses to operate across Kolkata and nearby districts during the Madhyamik examinations.
At least 20 additional buses will be in operation on 15 different routes over the eight days of the exams, alleviating concerns for students and parents about timely travel to examination centres. The police reassured that students who leave home on time will reach their destinations without issues.
This year's Madhyamik (secondary) examinations are set to commence on February 2 and conclude on February 12, with exam dates including February 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, and 12.
Exams will start at 10:45 a.m. and finish at 2:00 p.m., with considerable traffic expected during these hours on weekdays.
Timely arrival at examination centres can be challenging due to traffic congestion, which is why the Kolkata Police have established this helpline to support students.
This year, a total of 9,71,340 candidates are registered to take the Madhyamik examination, an increase from 9,69,425 last year.
Among these candidates, 4,26,733 are boys, 5,44,606 are girls, and one is a transgender individual. There are 2,682 examination centres statewide, comprising 945 main centres and 1,737 sub-centres.
