New Delhi, March 11 (NationPress) Reports indicate disruptions in LPG supply are being experienced in several regions of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, leading to temporary service interruptions and long lines at gas agencies. However, officials and the government assure that measures are being implemented to guarantee sufficient supply and avert shortages.

In Ayodhya’s Ramnagari, the distribution of meals at the community kitchen, Ram Rasoi, located near the Ram Mandir at the Amava Temple, had to be halted temporarily due to a lack of cooking gas.

Devotees visiting for darshan expressed their disappointment, stating that the kitchen was unable to function because LPG cylinders were not in stock.

One devotee shared with IANS: "I came here for darshan, but today’s meal distribution has been canceled due to the unavailability of cooking gas."

Temple officials clarified that the interruption was a temporary issue arising from a supply disruption that occurred on Tuesday afternoon. An administrator mentioned: "There was a gas shortage starting at 2 PM yesterday, leading to a notice being issued. However, the Ram Rasoi will resume normal operations today."

In Bihar’s Kaimur district, a significant crowd formed outside an Indane gas agency in Mohania after a truck delivering LPG cylinders arrived following a five-day supply gap. Cylinders were distributed under police supervision as residents queued for their supplies. Some consumers voiced frustration regarding the verification process during distribution.

Authorities in Kaimur also conducted operations against alleged black market activities concerning LPG cylinders amidst these supply concerns.

Gas agency representatives, however, insisted that the domestic LPG supply remains stable and that deliveries are ongoing. Ajay Kumar Singh, manager of a gas agency in Bihar, reassured consumers: "There is no need for concern over domestic gas availability. After placing an order, cylinders are typically delivered within 2-3 days."

Earlier on Tuesday, government sources emphasized that there is no cause for alarm as efforts are underway to meet the nation’s oil and energy demands. The government is enhancing its sourcing strategy and intends to import oil from a broader array of countries to maintain adequate supply.

Previously, India sourced oil and energy resources from 27 nations, but in light of the ongoing West Asia conflict, the government has expanded its network to include around 40 countries.

Officials stated that the Centre has widened its procurement scope to secure the nation’s energy needs. Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has reached out to multiple potential supplier nations to solidify supply agreements and ensure energy availability as promptly as possible. These plans are already in motion.
