Paris, Feb 28 (NationPress) French President Emmanuel Macron issued a stern warning on Saturday regarding the potential for renewed conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, stating that such an escalation would lead to significant repercussions for global peace and stability.

He stressed that every possible action is being undertaken to ensure the safety of French citizens and to protect the nation's interests in the Middle East.

Macron urged Iran to immediately cease its nuclear and ballistic programs and to put an end to its destabilizing actions in the Middle East, emphasizing their importance for regional stability.

“France is also prepared to allocate necessary resources to defend its closest allies, should they require assistance. The current escalation poses a threat to everyone and must come to a halt. The Iranian regime must realize that it has no alternative but to engage sincerely in negotiations to terminate its nuclear and ballistic pursuits, alongside its disruptive activities in the region. This is absolutely imperative for the safety of all in the Middle East,” Macron stated on X.

“The Iranian populace must also have the freedom to shape their own future. The atrocities committed by the Islamic regime disqualify it and necessitate a return of the voice to the people. The sooner this occurs, the better. Staying true to its principles and recognizing its international obligations, France is advocating for an immediate convening of the United Nations Security Council. I am maintaining close communication with our European partners and allies in the Middle East,” he added.

On the same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel and the United States executed a joint military operation, termed 'Operation Lion's Roar', aimed at Iran, characterizing the action as crucial to eliminate what he referred to as an “existential threat” from the Iranian regime.

In a video address to the citizens, Netanyahu remarked that the operation was initiated to counter the dangers posed by Tehran.

“My brothers and sisters, citizens of Israel, just an hour ago, Israel and the United States commenced an operation to neutralize the existential threat posed by the terrorist regime in Iran,” he declared.

This development raises concerns of an expanding conflict that could have extensive geopolitical and economic ramifications. In response, Iran has launched ballistic missiles at Israel, as confirmed by the Israeli military.
