Tel Aviv, Feb 28 (NationPress) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Saturday that Israel, in collaboration with the United States, has executed a military operation known as 'Operation Lion's Roar' against Iran. He characterized this initiative as essential to eliminate what he referred to as an “existential threat” posed by the Iranian government.

In his video address to the public, Netanyahu emphasized the need to address the peril originating from Tehran.

"My fellow citizens of Israel, just an hour ago, we launched an operation with our US partners to eradicate the existential threat from the terrorist regime in Iran," he declared.

Netanyahu expressed gratitude towards US President Donald Trump for his backing and guidance during the operation.

"I extend my thanks to our esteemed ally, President Trump, for his groundbreaking leadership," he noted.

The Prime Minister accused Iran’s leadership of a history filled with aggression and violence.

"For 47 years, the Ayatollahs' regime has shouted slogans of 'Death to Israel' and 'Death to America'. They have shed our blood, killed numerous Americans, and committed atrocities against their own people," Netanyahu remarked.

Highlighting Israel's longstanding worries regarding Tehran's nuclear aspirations, he asserted, "This murderous terrorist regime must not be permitted to acquire nuclear arms that would pose a threat to all humanity."

Netanyahu indicated that the military operation aimed to pave the way for political transformation within Iran.

"Our cooperative endeavor will create opportunities for the courageous Iranian populace to take control of their destiny," he stated.

In his speech, the Prime Minister directly addressed various ethnic groups in Iran, including Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Baloch, and Ahwazis, urging them to stand against the ruling regime and suggesting that the military strikes would lead to a more liberated Iran.

"The moment has arrived for all segments of the Iranian population—the Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Baloch, and Ahwazis—to break free from oppression and promote freedom and values of peace in Iran," Netanyahu emphasized.

He also urged Israeli citizens to adhere to official safety directives amidst the rising tensions.

"I urge you, citizens of Israel, to follow the guidance from the Home Front Command. In the days ahead, during Operation 'Lion's Roar', we will need to demonstrate patience and resilience," he added.

"Together, we will stand, together we will combat, and together we will secure the future of Israel," Netanyahu concluded, as regional tensions escalated.
