Tel Aviv, Feb 28 (NationPress) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Saturday that a collaborative military initiative, termed 'Operation Lion's Roar', was executed by Israel and the United States targeting Iran. He characterized this action as vital to eliminate what he referred to as an “existential threat” from the Iranian regime.

In a video address to the public, Netanyahu emphasized that the operation was initiated to address the peril posed by Tehran.

"My fellow citizens of Israel, mere hours ago, we commenced a mission with the United States to eradicate the existential threat represented by the terrorist regime in Iran," he stated.

Netanyahu expressed gratitude towards US President Donald Trump for his backing and guidance throughout the operation.

"I am thankful to our esteemed ally, President Donald Trump, for his unprecedented leadership," he remarked.

The Israeli Prime Minister accused the Iranian leadership of long-standing aggression and brutality.

"For 47 years, the regime of the Ayatollahs has been chanting 'Death to Israel', 'Death to America'. They have shed our blood, taken the lives of numerous Americans, and decimated their own populace," Netanyahu asserted.

Highlighting Israel's longstanding fears regarding Tehran's nuclear aspirations, he added, "This ruthless terrorist regime cannot be permitted to acquire nuclear capabilities that would enable it to endanger all of humanity."

Netanyahu stated that the joint military endeavor was also aimed at fostering conditions for political transformation within Iran.

"Our collaborative operation will establish the environment for the courageous Iranian populace to seize control of their destiny," he conveyed.

In his address, the Prime Minister directly appealed to various ethnic groups within Iran, including Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Baloch, and Ahwazis, urging them to revolt against the ruling regime and portraying the strikes as a pathway to a more liberated Iran.

"The moment has arrived for every segment of the Iranian people—the Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Baloch, and Ahwazis—to cast aside the burden of oppression and usher in freedom and values of peace to Iran," Netanyahu proclaimed.

He also urged Israeli citizens to adhere closely to official safety protocols as tensions escalated.

"I urge you, citizens of Israel, to follow the directives of the Home Front Command. In the forthcoming days, during Operation Lion's Roar, we will all be called upon to exhibit patience and resilience," he concluded.

"Together we will stand, together we will fight, and together we will secure the future of Israel," Netanyahu added, as regional tensions continued to rise.
