Madhya Pradesh CM to Inaugurate Rs 1,700 Crore Sondwa Irrigation Initiative in Alirajpur

Bhopal, Dec 12 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, will initiate the foundation laying ceremony for multiple projects, including the Sondwa lift irrigation initiative estimated at Rs 1,700 crore in the Alirajpur district this Thursday.
This significant initiative is designed to supply water for agricultural use across more than 55,000 hectares of farmland in 169 villages within Alirajpur, having received Cabinet approval earlier in July.
During his visit, he will also conduct 'bhoomi pujan' for various initiatives from the Water Resources Department, Public Service Engineering Department, and several other sectors.
Additionally, he plans to inspect the Krishi Vikas Kendra being developed at Chhakatla, which focuses on the promotion and production of coarse grains.
Before heading to Alirajpur, the Chief Minister will engage with representatives from gram panchayats in his home district of Ujjain. This event is part of the 'Jan Kalyan Parv' (public welfare campaign) that was launched on Wednesday.
On the occasion of completing the first year of his administration, he also introduced the 'Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan'.
These two initiatives aim to showcase the accomplishments achieved during his tenure while extending the advantages of government welfare schemes to a broader audience. The campaigns will run from December 11 to 26 and December 11 to January 26, respectively.
It is noteworthy that Mohan Yadav, serving his third term as an MLA from Ujjain (Dakshin), was appointed as the leader of the BJP legislative party on December 11, 2023, and will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state on December 13.
He succeeded the state's longest-serving CM, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is currently a Union Cabinet Minister, after the BJP secured a remarkable victory in the November 2023 Assembly elections.
"Under the Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan, a comprehensive survey will be undertaken to guarantee that the benefits of 34 beneficiary-oriented schemes, 11 target-based schemes, and 63 services are accessible to the populace. The initiative aims to connect every eligible individual to the public welfare programs," CM Yadav has declared.
