Bhopal, March 21 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, announced on Thursday that the significant initiative to provide water to every farm via the river-linking project is advancing swiftly.
He remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has bestowed two major river-linking projects upon Madhya Pradesh, creating a remarkable opportunity to further enhance irrigation across the state.
The Chief Minister made these comments during the inauguration of the Narmada-Kshipra Multipurpose Micro Lift Irrigation Project, valued at Rs 2,489.65 crore, in Ujjain.
This project involves extracting water from the Omkareshwar reservoir located near Barela village in Khandwa district, marking a crucial advancement in irrigation, agriculture, and rural development for the area.
“Prime Minister Modi has resolved long-standing inter-state river conflicts, facilitating the implementation of river-linking projects. The Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) project had been embroiled in disputes between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for two decades, but thanks to the resolution, the project is now underway,” Yadav stated.
Additionally, work has begun on the Ken-Betwa link project following agreements between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, with Yadav emphasizing that these initiatives aim to ensure that every farm in the state receives water.
“It’s a source of pride for Madhya Pradesh that two significant multipurpose river-linking projects, Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal, have been launched. Today, with the Narmada-Kshipra Micro Lift Irrigation Project, Narmada water has reached Tarana in Ujjain,” Yadav expressed.
He also mentioned that PM Modi’s ‘Per Drop More Crop’ initiative will greatly assist farmers through sprinkler and drip irrigation systems, maximizing irrigation while minimizing water usage.
This approach negates the necessity for land leveling, ensuring effective irrigation, increased productivity, and optimal water conservation.
Furthermore, he announced that the process to recruit one lakh candidates for government positions within a year, including extensive recruitment in the police and health sectors, has commenced.
