Bhopal, March 22 (NationPress) The economy of Madhya Pradesh is poised for robust growth, with forecasts suggesting it will reach Rs 18.48 lakh crore by the fiscal year 2026-27. A press release from the government indicated that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), which was Rs 16.48 lakh crore in 2025-26, is projected to see significant expansion, fueled by measures outlined in the state budget.

The upcoming budget for the next financial year stands at Rs 4,38,317 crore, focusing on development, social welfare, and infrastructure growth.

By the conclusion of 2026-27, officials predict a revenue surplus of Rs 44 crore, indicating a stable fiscal environment alongside ambitious growth strategies.

A capital expenditure of Rs 80,266 crore, representing 4.80 percent of the GSDP, is allocated to expedite infrastructure development, industrial initiatives, and rural upliftment programs. There are significant increases across key sectors.

The Rural Development Department will experience a 37 percent boost, while Urban Development and Housing will see a 16 percent rise. Allocations for Women and Child Development are up by 26 percent, Revenue by 43 percent, and School Education by 11 percent.

These initiatives aim to fortify rural infrastructure, enhance urban facilities, and support social programs.

Agriculture and farmer welfare are prioritized with Rs 88,910 crore designated for agriculture and related sectors. Including additional resources, nearly Rs 1.15 lakh crore will be available to modernize farming and increase farmer income.

The initiative for women’s empowerment, the Ladli Behna Yojana, has been allocated Rs 23,800 crore.

Other significant allocations include Rs 10,400 crore for the VB-GRAM G Scheme, Rs 5,500 crore for the Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Scheme, and Rs 4,600 crore for the National Health Mission.

Preparations for the upcoming Simhastha event will receive Rs 3,000 crore. The healthcare sector has seen a boost with an allocation of Rs 23,747 crore, while Rs 1,83,708 crore has been set aside for programs aimed at social and economic development.

Of this, 26 percent is allocated for Scheduled Tribes and 17 percent for Scheduled Castes.

New long-term projects include the Dwarka Scheme with Rs 5,000 crore over three years, Rs 3,800 crore for the SVAMITVA Scheme, and Rs 700 crore for the Yashoda Milk Supply Scheme, all designed to enhance rural economies and livestock management.

Projected revenue receipts stand at Rs 3,08,703 crore, with capital receipts expected to be Rs 80,694 crore.

With a balanced strategy for development and welfare, Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for sustained economic advancement and comprehensive progress in the future.
