Bhopal, Nov 3 (NationPress) The government of Madhya Pradesh has unveiled a commendable reward of Rs 1 crore for Kranti Goud, a key player of the Indian women's cricket team, in acknowledgment of her exceptional contributions during the World Cup tournament, which culminated in India’s remarkable triumph in Mumbai on November 2.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made this announcement while addressing an event in Bhopal on Monday. He congratulated the entire team for their extraordinary efforts, particularly spotlighting the achievements of Kranti Goud, who proudly represents Madhya Pradesh.

“Madhya Pradesh's own Kranti Goud, who played a crucial role in the team’s success with her impressive bowling, will be awarded Rs 1 crore by the state government as a token of appreciation,” declared Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

The Indian women’s cricket squad achieved a historic milestone by clinching their first World Cup title with a 52-run victory over South Africa in Navi Mumbai this past Sunday. This groundbreaking win for Indian women’s cricket has brought immense pride and joy to the nation.

Chief Minister Yadav further remarked that women in India are excelling across diverse fields, showcasing the nation's advancement under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kranti Goud, hailing from Ghuwara in the Chhatarpur district of Bundelkhand, played a pivotal role in steering the Indian women’s cricket team to the World Cup finals.

She emerged as one of the standout players at the Women’s World Cup, demonstrating exceptional control and consistency with the ball.

Throughout the tournament, she claimed nine wickets in eight matches and was honored as the Player of the Match in the group-stage encounter against Pakistan, where she recorded an impressive figure of 3/20.

Previously, Goud had also made headlines by achieving a six-wicket haul in an ODI against England at Chester-le-Street, becoming only the second Indian woman to accomplish this feat.
