Mumbai, Nov 2 (NationPress) The Bollywood industry is gearing up for a grand celebration as the king of romance marks his 60th birthday. The legendary Shah Rukh Khan, recently spotted in a cameo in 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood', is celebrating this significant milestone today.
On this special occasion, Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, took to her X account, formerly known as Twitter, to extend heartfelt wishes to the Badshah of Bollywood.
She expressed, “Wishing a very Happy Birthday to my brother Shah Rukh Khan! May you continue to enhance Indian cinema with your extraordinary talent and charisma. @iamsrk”.
This isn’t the first instance of Mamata showing her support for the actor. Back in July, she expressed concern for Shah Rukh after reports surfaced regarding a muscular injury he sustained while filming his upcoming project 'King'.
Mamata shared her worries via X, stating, “Hearing about my brother Shah Rukh Khan’s muscular injuries on set troubles me. I wish him a quick recovery. @iamsrk (sic)”.
Following the incident, the actor was flown to the USA for medical care and took a month-long hiatus from filming.
The bond between Mamata and SRK is strong, as King Khan co-owns the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, which is based in the state capital, Kolkata.
Notably, the Kolkata Knight Riders are one of the few teams, alongside Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, to have clinched multiple IPL titles. While both CSK and MI have secured the championship five times each, KKR has triumphed three times. Under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir, KKR claimed the IPL title in 2012 and 2014, while Shreyas Iyer led them to their third victory in 2024. They also reached the finals in 2021 but lost to CSK.
In addition, Shah Rukh Khan is the second of the three prominent Khans to celebrate his 60th birthday this year. Earlier in March, Bollywood icon Aamir Khan reached the same milestone, while Salman Khan, the youngest of the trio, will celebrate his birthday next month as the year ends.
Currently, SRK, who was last seen on the big screen in 'Dunki', is set to star in the upcoming film 'King', alongside his daughter Suhana Khan.
