Imphal, Feb 17 (NationPress) The Chief Secretary of Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh, conducted a meeting on Monday with key representatives from prominent civil society organisations (CSOs) in the tribal regions of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts to gain insights into the community's challenges, as reported by officials.
Accompanied by Director General of Police Rajiv Singh and Inspector General of Police NK Ujjwal, the Chief Secretary visited Churachandpur to evaluate the local public life and assess the civic administration in the district.
During his visit, Chief Secretary Singh also convened a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat in Tuibong.
Furthermore, the senior IAS officer collaborated with security personnel to discuss the current conditions in the district, aiming to tackle issues impacting the residents.
Singh additionally interacted with displaced civil servants and medical students.
This marked the Chief Secretary's inaugural engagement with the CSOs and officials outside the state capital in the tribal regions following the imposition of President's Rule in the unrest-affected state on February 13.

The class 12 examinations held by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur began on Monday, witnessing a participation of 29,065 students across 112 examination centres statewide.
According to an official from the Education Department, this year's examinee count has decreased compared to last year's total of 31,352 students.
Among the 29,065 candidates, 20,893 are from the science stream, 7,632 from the arts stream, and 540 from the commerce stream.
The examinations are being conducted in 112 centres, with 38 located in 10 districts in the hill regions and 74 spread across six districts in the valley.
The official noted that stringent monitoring measures were implemented to ensure a smooth and equitable examination process.
