An official indicated that the newly appointed Chief Secretary, accompanied by the police chief and Commissioner (Home) N Ashok Kumar, attentively listened to the concerns and opinions of the CSOs and other stakeholders in Kangpokpi District.
The Chief Secretary stressed the significance of collaborating progressively and fostering mutual cooperation. He also sought suggestions from CSOs on practical solutions to the challenges faced by the community and assured that the government is dedicated to addressing these issues.
The meeting served as a platform for transparent communication and teamwork between the government and various organizations, as per the official.
Later in the evening, the Chief Secretary and other senior officials, together with the Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi, Mahesh Chaudhari, and Superintendent of Police Kangpokpi, Manoj Prabhakar, visited the prefabricated homes in Ngahmun village, Champhai Sub-Division.
These prefabricated houses are intended to house the violence-affected individuals, who will soon be relocated from various relief camps in the district.
Prashant Kumar Singh, who took over as Chief Secretary of the conflict-affected state on January 15, replacing Vineet Joshi, not only assessed the living conditions of the occupants during his visit but also distributed essential supplies to them.
This gesture of compassion and assistance from the Deputy Commissioner is expected to offer some comfort and hope to these displaced individuals during this challenging period, the official mentioned.
Meanwhile, various security forces continued their search operations and area control in the fringe and vulnerable regions of hill and valley districts, discovering several arms and ammunition on Thursday.
