Patna, June 28 (NationPress) Union Minister and prominent NDA figure Jitan Ram Manjhi has passionately defended the ongoing voter list revision in Bihar, asserting that it is primarily those who dread the unmasking of bogus voters who are raising objections to the initiative.
In light of the opposition's uproar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state, Manjhi stated, "We are aware of the locations where fake voters have been registered. In some areas, there are as many as 25,000, and in others, up to 30,000. Those who have something to hide will naturally be fearful when these fraudulent names are eliminated."
Targeting the leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, Union Minister Manjhi ridiculed the RJD leader's symbolic act of distributing pens to students.
"Tejashwi is claiming to distribute pens, but in reality, he is handing out swords. His father, Lalu Prasad, was known for using sticks, and Tejashwi should adhere to that tradition," he remarked.
Manjhi rejected Tejashwi's call for 20 months of power, deeming it unreasonable and confidently asserted that nothing would come of it.
The minister reminded citizens of the law and order issues during Lalu Prasad's administration.
"The state experienced jungleraj under Tejashwi's father, a fact well known to the people of Bihar. Currently, RJD members occupy 70 percent of the land, and they are largely responsible for the crimes, rapes, and murders occurring in the state," claimed Jitan Ram Manjhi.
He warned that should the RJD regain power, even for a mere 10 months, the law and order situation in Bihar would deteriorate significantly.
In response to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's comment regarding the Centre's alleged covert implementation of NRC in Bihar, Manjhi opted not to engage, stating, "We cannot make any remarks about him."
Regarding seat sharing, he stated, "Union Minister Chirag Paswan is focused on fortifying the NDA. The NDA leadership will determine the seat-sharing arrangements for the upcoming state Assembly elections."
Commenting on a recent crime against a woman in West Bengal, Union Minister Manjhi criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming that the law and order situation there has collapsed and demanded her moral responsibility to resign.
