Patna, June 30 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has sharply criticized the Election Commission of India (ECI) for its current voter list revision process, labeling it a “clear conspiracy” against the underprivileged citizens of the state. Yadav expressed his worries regarding the timing of this initiative, highlighting that the ECI aims to finalize the entire process within just 25 days.
While addressing the media in Bihar’s Jamui district, Yadav remarked, “As part of the voter list revision, the ECI is requiring documentation that 90 percent of the populace in Bihar lacks. They are requesting birth certificates of parents, which is unattainable for the majority. Some may provide matriculation certificates, but what about those who haven't attended or completed matriculation? How can they demonstrate their residency in Bihar?”
He continued to question the ECI's refusal to accept Aadhaar cards and MNREGA cards as valid identification.
“Interestingly, the same Election Commission previously announced plans to link voter IDs with Aadhaar to identify fraudulent voters. Now, they refuse to accept Aadhaar cards, and many individuals don’t even possess them,” Yadav pointed out.

“This is unfeasible, especially as many regions in Bihar face flooding during the monsoon. A person coping with floods cannot be expected to gather documents to substantiate their residency in Bihar and India,” he stated.

I challenge them to consider if the same voter list was utilized during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Does this imply that the NDA triumphed based on fraudulent voters? If so, Prime Minister Modi should resign from his position.”
