Mumbai, Oct 17 (NationPress) The political landscape in Bihar is intensifying as the assembly elections draw near. Recently, acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee, a recipient of the Padma Shri award, found himself unjustly featured in a manipulated campaign video created by the IT team of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
The four-time National Award-winning actor condemned the creators of the misleading video for exploiting his image and persona without permission, aiming for electoral advantage and influencing voters.
Tejashwi Yadav, son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, shared the now-removed edited video on his X, formerly known as Twitter, intending to attract voters to the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
Manoj called out the party for their unethical tactics, highlighting that the video was originally made for a streaming platform. In a detailed post, he quoted Tejashwi Yadav’s original tweet, stating, “I wish to clarify publicly that I have no ties or support for any political party. The circulated video is a fake, edited version of an advertisement I did for @PrimeVideoIN. I urge everyone sharing it to cease spreading such misleading content and to refrain from engaging with it.”
The electoral race in Bihar is increasingly becoming turbulent, with various stakeholders intensifying their efforts. Just earlier this week, Tejashwi Yadav welcomed Khesari Lal Yadav and his spouse Chanda Devi into the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The actor's transition into politics signifies a notable shift from Bhojpuri cinema to social advocacy, alongside launching a spiritual YouTube channel.
On the flip side, the ruling NDA is also facing challenges. Actor Pawan Singh, who recently returned to the NDA, found himself embroiled in controversy after his wife, Jyoti Singh, went live on Instagram to accuse him of harassment and infidelity.
He later addressed the allegations through a lengthy Instagram post in Hindi, where he countered by claiming his wife was exploiting him for political gain.
The upcoming Bihar election will determine the 18th Legislative Assembly across 243 constituencies and will occur in two phases: November 6, 2025, and November 11, 2025. The results are set to be announced on November 14, 2025, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister.
