Patna, Oct 25 (NationPress) A new political controversy has emerged in Bihar as posters labeling Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav as "Bihar ka Nayak (Hero of Bihar)" were spotted throughout Patna just before the Assembly elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swiftly retaliated, accusing Tejashwi and his family of being entangled in various scams and corruption allegations.
The posters appeared only two days following Tejashwi Yadav's announcement as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the Mahagathbandhan in the upcoming state elections.
Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary mocked Yadav's family legacy, stating, "Jiska parivar khalnayak ho, vo kaise nayak ban sakta hai? (How can someone whose family is full of villains be a hero?)"
He criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav, branding him as Bihar's Gabbar Singh due to his involvement in numerous cases of corruption, including the infamous fodder scam. Choudhary pressed Tejashwi to unveil the secret behind his rapid accumulation of wealth in a mere year and a half, questioning the public's trust.
Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal also condemned the RJD, asserting that the Opposition resorts to publicity stunts due to a lack of substantive issues to discuss.
Jaiswal further jabbed at the RJD's campaign, referencing a popular Hindi song: "Nayak nahi, khalnayak hai ye (He is a villain, not a hero)." He predicted that soon, the title 'Khal' Nayak would be more fitting.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Bhim Singh Chandravanshi ridiculed the RJD's poster initiative, questioning how the son of a notorious figure could be labeled a hero.
BJP national spokesperson Ajay Alok expressed disbelief at the portrayal of Tejashwi Yadav as a hero, stating, "The days of Bihar have not fallen so low. This is the land of great leaders who championed justice. How can the son of a corrupt family, who has contributed nothing to Bihar, be termed 'Bihar ka Nayak'?"
