Are Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Truly Jan Nayaks?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Oct 28 (NationPress) The national president of Janshakti Janata Dal (JD), Tej Pratap Yadav, has made a sharp critique of his brother and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, along with Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi. He asserted that they can only be regarded as 'Jan Nayak' if they can accomplish something independently.
This remark follows the display of posters outside the RJD office in Patna, which referred to Tejashwi Yadav as the 'Bihar Ka Nayak' (hero of Bihar).
In his response, Tej Pratap Yadav, who was expelled from the RJD a few months ago, remarked, "Who truly embodies leadership for the people? Figures like Karpoori ji, Lohia ji, Ambedkar, and Mahatma Gandhi are the true leaders. Those who label themselves 'Jan Nayak' should refrain from doing so."
He labeled his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav as a 'Jan Nayak', stating, "Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav exist in the shadow of Lalu Prasad Yadav. They will be recognized as leaders of the people only when they achieve success independently."
"I do not exist in Lalu Prasad's shadow. I am supported by the impoverished citizens of Bihar and the youth, and we are progressing together," he added.
Previously, RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui, a close confidant of Lalu Prasad Yadav, questioned the designation of Tejashwi Yadav as a 'Jan Nayak', suggesting that he still has a journey ahead to earn that title.
"It will require time for him to be recognized as a 'Jan Nayak'. Tejashwi has inherited the legacy of Lalu Yadav and is striving to meet the aspirations of the backward classes," Abdul Bari Siddiqui commented to IANS.
The RJD leader also noted that if Tejashwi Yadav continues to promote the ideals and vision of Karpoori Thakur and Lalu Yadav, the public will inevitably acknowledge him as a 'Jan Nayak'.
