Patna, Sep 29 (NationPress) JD-U's chief spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar launched a robust counteroffensive against the Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Monday, accusing him of lacking understanding of economic issues and questioning his moral grounds to critique the state government.
Neeraj Kumar refuted Tejashwi’s assertion that the government’s committed expenditure is at Rs 2 lakh crore, stating that the true amount is merely Rs 1.08 lakh crore.
He remarked, “Bihar’s GDP is Rs 10 lakh crore, and public welfare initiatives are shaped by the state’s financial capabilities and central resources, not arbitrary estimations.”
He mentioned that clarifications would be provided by the Finance Minister but noted that Tejashwi was attempting to portray himself as a significant leader.
In response to Tejashwi’s critiques of government initiatives, Neeraj quipped, “Who would emulate a 420 man (cheater)?” This reference hinted at the corruption allegations against Tejashwi and his family related to the fodder scam and the IRCTC land-for-job scam.
He expressed that Bihar feels embarrassed whenever Tejashwi Yadav’s name is mentioned in court proceedings concerning corruption, asserting that such a leader lacks the moral standing to question the state's integrity.
Neeraj Kumar further accused Tejashwi and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav of belittling Jananayak Karpoori Thakur, suggesting that their political ambitions revolve around acquiring six bighas of land in Patna and properties throughout Bihar instead of focusing on state development.
He recounted an incident where Lalu Prasad Yadav allegedly refused to provide a government vehicle to Karpoori Thakur, instructing him to come by rickshaw instead.
In a jibe at the RJD for claiming credit for Karpoori Thakur’s Bharat Ratna, Neeraj stated, “We hold the honor of being leaders of the populace; they bear the disgrace. Those who label Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav as leaders of the people are disrespecting Karpoori Thakur.”
Previously on Sunday, Tejashwi Yadav had accused the Nitish Kumar government of corruption and various financial discrepancies.
