Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Nitish Kumar on Bihar's Issues
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 8 (NationPress) Bihar's Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav has launched a fierce critique against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing his administration of neglecting the escalating problems of unemployment, crime, and corruption in the state.
In a recent Facebook post, Tejashwi Yadav condemned Nitish Kumar’s governance, asserting that Bihar is enduring hardships under his leadership.
"Poverty, unemployment, crime, and corruption are at their highest levels in Bihar. The mental lethargy and indifference of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have completely hindered the state's progress. Thousands of Bihar’s youth are compelled to migrate to other states. A corrupt faction of retired officials is managing the government. True development in Bihar is impossible without a significant change," he stated.
Alongside his post, Tejashwi Yadav shared a digitally manipulated image depicting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar asleep, with a caption that reads: "Bihar is again deprived of the budget because Kursi Kumar (Nitish Kumar) is sleeping."
This criticism arises despite the Union Budget 2025-26 earmarking funds for vital projects in Bihar, including the establishment of a Makhana Board, the expansion of IIT Patna, the creation of the National Food Technology Institute, the advancement of the western Kosi Canal, upgrades to Patna and Bihta airports, and the construction of three Greenfield airports.
While the ruling NDA coalition has praised the budget as "Bihar’s budget", Tejashwi has dismissed it as mere rehashing of past announcements, asserting that Bihar has once again been overlooked.
