Tejashwi Yadav Critiques Nitish Kumar's Governance as Bihar Struggles
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, March 12 (NationPress) Tejashwi Yadav, the National Working President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), sharply criticized the administration led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserting that the NDA has failed the citizens of Bihar.
In a post on the social media platform X, Yadav claimed that even after years of being in power, Bihar remains the most impoverished state in India.
He enumerated various indicators demonstrating that Bihar's performance is lacking compared to other states.
Yadav stated, "Bihar has the highest migration rate, the highest crime rate, the highest level of corruption, the highest unemployment rate, the highest multidimensional poverty rate, and the highest school dropout rate in the nation."
Additionally, he pointed out that the state ranks poorly on numerous development metrics, which include literacy rates, per capita income, farmers’ earnings, per capita investment, per capita consumption, computer literacy, electricity use, infrastructure progress, educational quality, the number of industrial units, and the availability of computer and ICT labs in schools.
Yadav also mentioned that residents of Bihar are facing some of the steepest costs for essential services, claiming that the state has the highest prices for LPG, electricity, petrol, and diesel.
He further elaborated that land and property prices in various regions exceed those in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
While criticizing the ruling coalition, Yadav noted that during 21 years of NDA governance, Bihar has fallen behind on multiple development criteria and national rankings.
He accused the government of maintaining its grip on power through administrative manipulation, misuse of public assets, vote-buying, and caste-based politics.
Tejashwi Yadav has consistently been a vocal opponent of Nitish Kumar's administration, frequently releasing crime reports to challenge the effectiveness of the double-engine government.
These comments have reignited the political discourse between the opposition RJD and the ruling NDA regarding governance and development in Bihar.
