New Delhi, Sep 2 (NationPress) Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi came to the defense of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar amid new allegations of corruption from RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. He emphasized that while corruption is a pervasive issue throughout the nation, "at the very least, Nitish Kumar does not tolerate corruption in any form."
While speaking to the press, Manjhi stated, "This is not just about Bihar. Such issues are occurring all over the country. A corrupt individual is corrupt, irrespective of their location. However, it’s important to acknowledge that Nitish Kumar has a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption."
His remarks were in direct response to Tejashwi Yadav's harsh critique of the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar.
Yadav accused the administration of being riddled with irregularities, specifically citing a recent case where a government engineer was allegedly apprehended with Rs 100 crore in cash.
“Engineers in Bihar were found with Rs 100 crore. If such incidents are occurring, the Chief Minister should refrain from lecturing about illegal practices within his own departments,” Tejashwi suggested, alluding to systemic corruption.
In contrast, Manjhi challenged this political narrative, proposing that corruption should be addressed universally and should not be weaponized for political gains.
Additionally, Manjhi commented on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s controversial statement regarding a “hydrogen bomb” made during the conclusion of the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Patna.
“What occurred after the atomic bomb was dropped? Not even an ant perished. The same will occur with this so-called hydrogen bomb,” Manjhi remarked, dismissing the significance of Gandhi’s comments.
“There is no substantial issue in their statements. Yes, names of deceased and fraudulent voters are being expunged, and names that were missing are being added to the voter list. This process is being rectified. We will not allow outsiders to sway Bihar’s political landscape,” he concluded.
