New Delhi, Oct 26 (NationPress) The political landscape in Bihar has become increasingly heated as JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar launched an incisive critique of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav following his recent press conference and a slew of election promises, challenging the validity of Yadav's declarations.
Addressing Tejashwi directly, Neeraj Kumar posed a critical question: “What significance do Tejashwi Yadav’s announcements hold when the coalition parties are not even part of it? Tejashwi Yadav is facing accusations in multiple economic and criminal cases—specifically, 27 cases filed against him across Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. This is the essence of Lalu Yadav's socialism; how can the public have faith in his commitments?”
The JD(U) spokesperson went on to highlight the achievements of the Nitish Kumar government, particularly in ensuring that marginalized groups received representation within the Panchayati Raj system. “Who ensured representation for Dalits, extremely backward classes, and women in Panchayati Raj institutions? Certainly not the RJD,” he remarked, contrasting the ruling coalition with the opposition's claims regarding social justice.
Kumar also criticized Tej Pratap Yadav, Tejashwi's older brother, commenting on his recent public engagements. “Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Lalu Yadav, is seen carrying around his grandmother’s photo. If he had showcased his parents instead, we might have considered him less disingenuous. After being overlooked by his family, he now carries his grandmother’s image,” he stated.
Continuing his critique, Neeraj Kumar remarked, “After being embarrassed by his brother and receiving political endorsement from his sister through a tweet from Singapore, Tej Pratap’s political zeal appears to have reignited. He is more educated and the elder son, giving him the right to promise the public, especially since he isn’t facing 27 criminal cases like Tejashwi. We believe Tej Pratap has far fewer cases against him.”
Earlier that day, Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader and chief ministerial candidate for the Mahagathbandhan, held a press conference where he outlined various welfare initiatives, including doubling the allowances for Panchayat and Gram Kachahri representatives and introducing pension schemes for former members. He asserted that the Mahagathbandhan only requires “20 months” from the people of Bihar to demonstrate that change is achievable.
Yadav accused the NDA government of corruption, unemployment, and neglect of industry, stating, “The people of Bihar are ready for change. They dedicated 20 years to the NDA; now, grant us 20 months.”
