New Delhi, July 13 (NationPress) In a pointed political critique as Bihar Assembly elections approach, RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari has charged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with emulating their leader Tejashwi Yadav's job creation promises.
This statement follows Nitish Kumar's recent declaration that his administration plans to offer one crore government jobs and employment opportunities to the youth over the next five years.
Responding vigorously to this announcement, Tiwari labeled the Nitish Kumar-led administration a "copycat", asserting that it is merely echoing the commitments made by Tejashwi Yadav in recent times.
“The government of Nitish Kumar is merely imitating Tejashwi Yadav. In the past few days, every announcement made by Tejashwi Yadav has been regurgitated by this government. All these initiatives stem from Tejashwi Yadav’s vision,” Tiwari informed IANS.
He pointed out that during the 2020 Assembly elections, it was Tejashwi Yadav who initially proposed the pledge of 10 lakh government jobs, establishing it as a pivotal element of the RJD's campaign. At that moment, Nitish Kumar had questioned the viability of this promise, inquiring about the source of funding.
“Everyone recalls that in 2020, Tejashwi Yadav was the first to pledge 10 lakh government jobs. He campaigned vigorously on this premise. Back then, Nitish Kumar mocked, asking: Where will the funding come from? Will he bring money from his father's estate or from prison? Now, this same Nitish Kumar is discussing employment and job opportunities,” Tiwari remarked.
He further asserted that during Tejashwi's tenure as Deputy Chief Minister, over five lakh jobs were allocated, and the process for an additional three lakh was initiated. According to Tiwari, the current reference to eight lakh jobs by CM Nitish Kumar is also a result of Tejashwi Yadav’s contributions.
“Whether it’s the youth commission or women's reservation, all these declarations were originally made by Tejashwi. After the elections, they will dismiss these as mere 'jumlas (hollow promises)', similar to the Prime Minister’s one crore jobs pledge,” he added.
Describing the recent job promise as a mere electoral tactic, Tiwari emphasized that the JD(U)-led administration is nearing its end and is frantically trying to attract voters by rebranding RJD's policies.
“This government is imitating Tejashwi Yadav because it has nothing innovative to present. It’s an outgoing government,” Tiwari expressed, confident that the people of Bihar will not be deceived by what he termed election-time rhetoric.
