Mumbai, July 5 (NationPress) Actress Manushi Chhillar, who will soon star in 'Maalik' alongside Rajkummar Rao, has shared her thoughts on the various beauty treatments that actresses are reportedly opting for these days.
In a candid conversation with IANS, Manushi emphasized that, contrary to popular belief, cosmetic treatments aren't a modern trend; it's just that advancements in technology have made them more accessible.
She stated, "Coming from a medical background, I can assure you that it's a major misconception that these treatments are new. While today’s technology is more advanced, these practices have existed for centuries."
Manushi believes that undergoing such procedures should be a personal decision rather than an obligation.
"When discussing cosmetology, it's essential to recognize that it's a deeply personal choice. It should not be a requirement for any profession; if it enhances your self-esteem, pursue it. It’s your decision—no one should impose their views on you, and if you choose not to undergo it, that should be respected," the former Miss World remarked.
Regarding 'Maalik', in addition to Manushi and Rajkummar, the film will also star Prosenjit Chatterjee, Medha Shankr, Huma Qureshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Swanand Kirkire in pivotal roles, among others.
This marks Manushi's first on-screen collaboration with Rajkummar.
Rajkummar has undergone rigorous gun training for his role as a gangster in 'Maalik', learning various techniques to handle firearms like a true professional.
Producer Jay Shewakramani elaborated on this, stating, “It took considerable time and intensive training for Raj to master the AK-47. During rehearsals, he faced some shoulder strains while practicing, but he persevered until we completed the shot. I truly admire Raj's dedication to his craft.”
Produced by Kumar Taurani under the Tips Films banner, in collaboration with Jay Shewakramani from Northern Lights Films, 'Maalik' is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 11 this year.
