New Delhi, April 5 (NationPress) Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the Executive Chairperson of Biocon Limited, expressed her apprehensions regarding the state of NH44, a vital IT corridor that links Bengaluru to Hosur. In a recent post on the social media platform X, she criticized the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for what she called inadequate design and upkeep of this vital roadway.

Mazumdar-Shaw emphasized that the highway's medians and barricades are in a “terrible” condition, and the unpaved shoulders contribute to an overall “eyesore” for travelers along the route.

She raised a pertinent question about whether NHAI considers this route as part of its esteemed reputation for road infrastructure development nationwide.

“While NHAI boasts of its road infrastructure across the country, why is the nation’s essential IT corridor NH44 (previously NH7), namely Hosur Road, so poorly designed and maintained?” she remarked on X.

“It’s an eyesore - the medians and barricades are dreadful and the shoulders are not paved,” Shaw added.

Despite numerous complaints over the years, she indicated that there has been a lack of response from the authorities, directly tagging Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and the NHAI’s official social media account.

“Despite multiple complaints over several years, there has been no response. Is this what NHAI considers its proud legacy?” she questioned.

Additionally, the prominent businesswoman previously highlighted serious concerns regarding waste management in the country, particularly in major metropolitan areas such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

In an October post last year on X, she criticized local municipalities and state governments for their blatant disregard and negligence regarding this escalating issue, which poses a significant threat to the health and well-being of citizens.
