Patna, May 8 (NationPress) Bihar's Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, emphasized on Thursday the necessity for the media to practice caution and responsible reporting, especially regarding the movements of our defense forces following Operation Sindoor.
He drew a significant comparison with the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, calling on media professionals to avoid live coverage of military operations.
“During the 26/11 incident, continuous live broadcasting by news channels inadvertently assisted terrorists in Pakistan, allowing them to monitor our forces' movements and adjust their actions accordingly. We cannot afford to repeat that error,” stated Tejashwi Yadav during a press briefing in Patna.
“I earnestly appeal to all media personnel to exercise restraint and adhere to the guidelines provided by the Union government,” he continued.
Despite any political disagreements with the ruling party, he reaffirmed the opposition's solidarity with the government on this matter.
“We back every decision made by the Union government regarding national interest, and our party is firmly aligned with them,” he expressed.
Praising the bravery and dedication of the defense personnel, Yadav remarked, “We take immense pride in our defense forces. They protect our borders and risk their lives for our safety, often coming from modest farming backgrounds. It is our responsibility to ensure their security and prevent adversaries from gaining any tactical edge through our media.”
He also confirmed his party's attendance at the all-party meeting regarding Operation Sindoor held in New Delhi on Thursday, reiterating their unwavering support for the government's defense strategy.
“Our representatives made it clear — we stand united on this critical issue,” he stated.
Operation Sindoor was executed by the Indian armed forces across nine locations in Pakistan and PoK on Wednesday.
