Imphal, Nov 18 (NationPress) In a significant operation, security forces have apprehended four militant suspects and eradicated an additional 41 acres of illicit poppy cultivation in several districts of Manipur within the last 24 hours, as reported by officials on Tuesday.
A police representative stated that the militants were detained in the Imphal West district and are associated with various factions of the banned United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP).
From the suspects, authorities seized three mobile devices, SIM cards, and Aadhaar cards. These individuals are currently undergoing interrogation.
In an additional operation, forces arrested Thangjam Thoungamba Meitei, also known as Chingshang, aged 26, in the Imphal East district.
Following his confession, a .38 caliber pistol accompanied by a magazine was retrieved from the vicinity of Tiger Camp village.
