Itanagar, Feb 19 (NationPress) The government of Arunachal Pradesh is poised to launch ‘Mission Shikshit Arunachal’ by 2029, aimed at the ‘Transformation of the Education Landscape in Arunachal Pradesh’, officials reported on Wednesday.
An official from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) revealed that a detailed, comprehensive strategy for ‘Mission Shikshit Arunachal’ by 2029 was presented to the Cabinet during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday. The plan was developed by the Department of Education.
Before formulating the plan, the Education Department conducted extensive studies, research, and field visits throughout the state, the official stated.
The initiative aims to implement a thorough plan for transforming the education sector in Arunachal Pradesh within a three-year timeframe.
The action plan for ‘Shikshit Arunachal’ is primarily focused on creating a future-ready education system that guarantees quality learning for every child. This includes enhancing educational infrastructure, optimizing human resources, empowering teachers to adopt innovative teaching methods, and strengthening competency-based learning.
The goal of ‘Mission Shikshit’ by 2029 is to eliminate single-digit school enrollments and single-teacher schools entirely while ensuring that all schools are equipped with adequate classrooms, hostel facilities, toilets, drinking water, and electricity.
As part of this mission, the department aims to provide at least 80 percent of government schools with internet access, smart classrooms, and digital learning tools. Other initiatives include enhancing education governance through data-driven decision-making, monitoring schools, and ensuring teacher accountability.
The proposed mission also seeks to ensure an equitable distribution of human resources among schools via a 100 percent online computerized transfer system that promotes transparency and implements a tech-driven, data-informed system to manage teacher vacancies.
Additionally, ‘Mission Shikshit Arunachal’ by 2029 aims to establish a robust merit-based structure for tenure, promotions, and salary, with multiple levels for each teacher, to recognize and reward outstanding educators.
