He provided an update on ongoing infrastructure projects, noting that out of the sanctioned 189 km of India-Bangladesh border fencing in Mizoram, NBCC (India) Ltd. has successfully completed 98 km, with work currently in progress in the Lawngtlai district.
Additionally, he mentioned that the company has recently completed 55 km of border fencing and established five Border Outposts (BOPs) within the Dampa Tiger Reserve area in Mamit district.
The ambulance, designated for Silsury village along the India-Bangladesh border in the Mamit Aspirational District, has been acquired through NBCC (India) Ltd.'s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Commending the company’s proactive approach, the Governor encouraged NBCC to utilize its best practices and advanced technologies to enhance living standards in smaller states like Mizoram.
He also praised the Central government’s focus on Aspirational Districts and urged the company to maintain its commitment to development in border areas, given its vital role in infrastructure projects.
R. Lalthangliana, the MLA representing the Dampa Assembly Constituency, welcomed the ambulance as a valuable resource for Silsury village and its surrounding areas in the Mamit Aspirational District. He expressed appreciation to NBCC (India) Ltd. and hoped that the service would be optimally utilized for the benefit of the local populace.
Gyanaranjan Samal, Chief General Manager and Head of the North East Region of NBCC (India), shared insights into the company’s initiatives and accomplishments. Established in 1960, NBCC (India) Ltd. operates as a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and serves as a Project Management Consultant (PMC) for significant infrastructure development projects for the Central government.
