Bilaspur, March 30 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday vehemently condemned the former Congress administrations for their prolonged neglect of Chhattisgarh, accusing them of casting the state into an enduring period of darkness and underdevelopment.

He emphasized that the Congress party, having ruled for sixty years, branded districts as backward, leading to generational devastation and loss.

The “disregard” shown by Congress towards the issues faced by Maoist-affected areas only worsened the circumstances, according to PM Modi.

In sharp contrast, Prime Minister Modi stated that his administration has implemented transformative programs like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra, which have significantly changed healthcare and infrastructure.

“With 5,000 kilometers of roads approved, including 2,500 kilometers under PM JANMAN Yojana, Chhattisgarh is now entering a new phase of growth. The establishment of hospitals in Sukma and the celebration of events like the Bastar Olympics symbolize this extraordinary change,” he remarked.

While distributing keys to three beneficiaries, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the importance of “punya” (deep virtue) associated with providing shelter, a noble act firmly rooted in Indian culture.

PM Modi noted, “Today, three lakh underprivileged families are moving into their new homes, showcasing the trust in ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’.

He described the achievement of home ownership as one of the most significant gifts.

Unlike ordinary houses, PM Modi pointed out, these homes are tailored to the needs of the economically disadvantaged and include amenities such as toilets, tap water, and cooking gas under the Ujjwala scheme.

Thousands of women are now homeowners, many for the first time, and this initiative has created jobs for numerous individuals, he explained.

The Congress governments had left the dreams of homeownership buried in paperwork, but the Vishnu Deo Sai administration, in its initial cabinet meeting, revived these aspirations and committed to building 18 lakh homes.

Out of these, three lakh homes have been completed, providing permanent housing for families in Bastar and Sarguja districts, as stated by Prime Minister Modi.

Chhattisgarh has fully embraced the BJP's vision, marking 2025 as 'Atal Nirman Varsh', a year dedicated to fulfilling promises and promoting development, he added.

PM Modi outlined efforts to bring projects to remote locations, emphasizing solar energy and sustainable solutions.

Under the PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana, registrations for complimentary electricity have begun, with many already signing up, according to PM Modi.

He further mentioned ongoing initiatives to make petroleum products affordable, introduce CNG vehicles, and supply cooking gas via pipelines, addressing the previous administration's inactivity regarding gas infrastructure.

During the event, PM Modi inaugurated or laid the foundation stones for projects valued at Rs 33,700 crore.

These projects include NTPC's Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (800MW) and CSPGCL's Super Critical Thermal Power Project (2x660MW), along with three POWERGRID transmission projects under the WRES (Western Region Expansion Scheme).

Cleaner energy solutions are being introduced through the City Gas Distribution project and the Visakh-Raipur Pipeline, which spans over 1,540 km.

Railway projects totaling 219 km and road improvements worth Rs 1,270 crore are aimed at enhancing connectivity.

Educational advancements include 130 PM SHRI Schools and a Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur.
