Jaipur, Sep 25 (NationPress) During a significant ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the groundwork for projects totaling Rs 1.22 lakh crore. He criticized the Congress party for neglecting the nation's energy requirements and emphasized his administration's success in providing free electricity to 2.5 crore households since taking office in 2014.

Speaking at a rally in Banswara, PM Modi announced 12 major initiatives and projects spanning various sectors across 21 districts of Rajasthan, stating, "Upon our arrival in 2014, 18,000 villages lacked even a single electricity pole."

He pointed out, "The Congress turned a blind eye to the power sector, leading to prolonged power outages in both urban and rural areas," adding that previously, the restoration of electricity was more newsworthy than the outages themselves.

The Prime Minister asserted that the corruption and mismanagement of the Congress government in Rajasthan is being addressed by the current BJP administration.

PM Modi remarked, "From Rajasthan's soil, a new chapter is being written in India's energy sector capabilities. It signifies the country's rapid progress, with a focus on all states."

He stated, "The nation is elevating its energy generation abilities to unprecedented levels," linking electricity provision to overall development.

From Banswara, he launched and laid the foundations for projects amounting to Rs 1.22 lakh crore. Of this, Rs 1.8 lakh crore is allocated for Rajasthan to bolster infrastructure, create jobs, and improve welfare, while other projects will benefit states like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.

He initiated the foundation for the Rs 42,000 crore Mahi-Banswara nuclear facility and approved 15 drinking water initiatives across 15 districts in Rajasthan, totaling Rs 5,884 crore, aimed at ensuring safe drinking water.

In a significant employment initiative, the Prime Minister distributed appointment letters to 15,000 youths for various government roles. These include positions for 5,778 animal attendants, 4,197 junior assistants, 1,800 junior instructors, 1,464 junior engineers, and 1,200 third-grade teachers (Level-2), among others.

This marked PM Modi's 16th visit to Rajasthan since the BJP assumed power at the Centre.

On this occasion, he also launched three new trains via video link, including the Bikaner–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, and the Udaipur City–Chandigarh Express.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister engaged with beneficiaries of the Kusum Yojana, showcasing the government's dedication to clean energy and rural empowerment.

Senior leaders, including Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, participated in the event.

This visit is anticipated to mark a critical turning point for southern Rajasthan, integrating energy, infrastructure, and employment initiatives while honoring Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's vision of 'Antyodaya', which emphasizes uplifting the most disadvantaged members of society.
