Furthermore, PM Modi characterized his discussions with Herzog as being "fruitful and comprehensive."
His remarks on X came following a video posted by President Herzog, highlighting that the people of Israel and India are "stronger together."
In the video, PM Modi expressed, "Am Yisrael Chai" which translates to "The People of Israel Live." Herzog responded with "Jai Hind" in a show of camaraderie.
During their meeting, the leaders explored avenues to bolster cooperation in education, innovation, start-ups, technology, and connectivity.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, PM Modi emphasized the bonds of goodwill, thanking President Herzog for his unwavering support in fortifying the unique India-Israel Partnership. Both leaders examined further opportunities for collaboration in education, innovation, start-ups, and technology.
Prior to his meeting with President Herzog, PM Modi visited the Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Centre in Jerusalem, where he laid a wreath in honor of Holocaust victims.
Accompanied by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Dani Dayan, Chairman of Yad Vashem, PM Modi toured the Holocaust Memorial and Museum, which preserves the memory and documentation of the Holocaust.
The visit included an exploration of the Book of Names, a monumental installation honoring 4.8 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust, as well as a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance. PM Modi also signed the Yad Vashem guest book.
Currently, PM Modi is on a two-day State Visit to Israel. He received a grand welcome from Netanyahu and his wife, Sara Netanyahu, in Tel Aviv on Wednesday and later addressed a Special Plenary of the Knesset in Jerusalem—the first address by an Indian Prime Minister at the Israeli parliament.
