Chennai, March 11 (NationPress) As the announcement for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaches, political dynamics in the region are gaining momentum. In light of this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Tiruchirappalli on Wednesday evening to engage in a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rally at Panchapur and unveil a range of significant development initiatives.
Earlier that day, the Prime Minister will fulfill official duties in Kochi, Kerala, before making his way to Tiruchirappalli. His flight to Kochi is expected to take off around 5 PM in a specialized aircraft, with his arrival in Tiruchirappalli anticipated shortly thereafter.
Upon landing, he will proceed via helicopter to Panchapur, where both the official ceremony and political rally are scheduled to take place.
During the government event, the Prime Minister will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the groundwork for numerous infrastructure projects valued at approximately ₹5,650 crore.
One of the major projects includes laying the foundation for the City Gas Distribution Network of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited in the Nilgiris and Erode districts, which will entail an investment of ₹3,680 crore.
Additionally, he will dedicate to the nation a lubricant oil manufacturing facility by Indian Oil Corporation located in Manali, Chennai, constructed at a cost of ₹1,490 crore.
Moreover, he will inaugurate 89 rural road projects, spanning around 370 kilometers, under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana throughout Tamil Nadu. Another significant initiative is the foundation stone for the Greenfield bypass near Gangaikonda Cholapuram on National Highway 81.
The Prime Minister will also flag off six train services, including two Amrit Bharat Express trains, alongside two express trains and a passenger train service, aimed at enhancing rail connectivity in the region.
After the government event, the Prime Minister will address the NDA rally at a specially arranged venue on the opposite side of the Panchapur grounds at approximately 6:30 PM.
The rally is set to occur on a vast 30-acre site, with extensive preparations made for the attendees. Security measures have been strengthened in and around the area, with local police fully overseeing the Panchapur region.
Several prominent NDA figures are expected to share the stage with the Prime Minister, including AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss, AMMK General Secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran, Tamil Maanila Congress leader G.K. Vasan, and IJK leader Parivendhar.
According to BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagendran, an estimated seven lakh individuals are anticipated to attend the gathering. With the Assembly election schedule likely to be announced next week, this rally is poised to establish the groundwork for the NDA's seat-sharing arrangements in the State.
