Chennai, Feb 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Tamil Nadu from February 28 (Saturday) for an extensive two-day itinerary encompassing Chennai, Madurai, and Puducherry. His schedule is filled with official functions, infrastructure inaugurations, temple visits, and political activities.
As per reports from senior BJP officials, the Prime Minister will touch down in Chennai on Saturday evening and will spend the night at Raj Bhavan. On March 1, he will head to Puducherry, where he is expected to partake in a government event. Subsequently, PM Modi will speak at a public gathering organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking an important political outreach in the union territory.
Following his engagements in Puducherry, the Prime Minister will proceed to Madurai. During this visit, he is anticipated to offer prayers at the Tirupparankundram Subramanya Swamy Temple, one of the six sacred sites dedicated to Lord Murugan and a significant spiritual location in Tamil Nadu.
In Madurai, PM Modi will also preside over the inauguration of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital. Additionally, he will launch several development initiatives via video conference.
This visit highlights the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and speeding up development projects across the southern states.
According to railway officials, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation for various projects associated with Southern Railway during a government event in Madurai.
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, renovated railway stations at Morappur, Bommidi, Pollachi, Karaikudi, Srivilliputhur, Cholavandan, Tiruvarur, and Manapparai will be officially inaugurated. New train services will also be launched on key routes, including Tambaram-Mangaluru, Coimbatore-Dhanbad, Nagercoil-Charlapalli, and Rameswaram-Mangaluru, aimed at improving connectivity in the southern and eastern regions.
Later that day, the Prime Minister is also expected to address a public meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Madurai, adding a political dimension to his official duties.
Local police have stated that comprehensive security measures have been established at all venues in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in light of the Prime Minister's visit.
