PM Modi to Unveil Development Projects Exceeding Rs 7,000 Crore in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on March 1

New Delhi, Feb 27 (NationPress) On March 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a visit to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to address public gatherings and unveil development initiatives totaling over Rs 7,000 crore, as confirmed by an official announcement on Friday.
The Prime Minister will arrive in Chennai on Saturday evening, and on Sunday, he plans to inaugurate projects and lay the groundwork for initiatives valued at over Rs 2,700 crore in Puducherry. An official statement indicated that he will also speak at the gathering during this event.
Later in the afternoon on Sunday, the PM will make his way to Madurai to launch projects worth over Rs 4,400 crore while addressing attendees at a public assembly, according to the statement.
At around 4 p.m., the Prime Minister intends to offer prayers at the Arulmigu Subramaniyaswamy Temple in Tirupparankundram, Madurai.
Among the key projects, he will initiate the four-laning of the Marakkanam–Puducherry section of NH-332A and the Paramakudi–Ramanathapuram section of NH-87. The four-laning of the Marakkanam–Puducherry section is expected to alleviate traffic congestion in urban Puducherry, cutting travel time nearly in half, from one hour to approximately 30 minutes.
The Prime Minister will also unveil and dedicate rail infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing passenger convenience, operational efficiency, and strengthening rail connectivity within the state, as per the statement.
Additionally, he will inaugurate eight renovated railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These stations include Morappur, Bommidi, Srivilliputtur, Sholavandan, Manaparai, Pollachi Junction, Karaikkudi Junction, and Thiruvarur Junction in Tamil Nadu.
In Puducherry, the Prime Minister will dedicate the 750-acre Karasur-Sedarapet Industrial Estate to the nation, which is set to accommodate a Pharma Park, Textile Park, IT Park, a state-of-the-art research and development center from IIT Madras, and advanced healthcare facilities from JIPMER. This initiative is anticipated to significantly stimulate industrial growth and job creation in the region.
