Mumbai, May 19 (NationPress) Debutante Mohak Matkar went above and beyond to bring genuine authenticity to her role in the series “Saru”, fully immersing herself in the local culture and dialect.
“Saru” tells the inspiring tale of a young woman from Khares village in Rajasthan, who courageously confronts societal challenges to chase her dreams of higher education. Mohak takes on the lead role.
The debutante expressed: “While preparing for my character as Saru, I made a deliberate effort to engage with as many locals as possible during filming in Rajasthan. As someone from an urban background, this was a completely different experience for me, and it was intriguing to see the variations in dialect. Initially, I struggled with my dialect coach, but I have begun to grasp it well.”
To portray Saru with authenticity and depth, Mohak underwent extensive dialect training, collaborating closely with a coach to understand the subtleties of the Rajasthani tone and pronunciation. While shooting on location in Rajasthan, she interacted with local women and schoolgirls, keenly observing their behaviors, expressions, and conversations.
This immersive experience provided her with a richer insight into how individuals of different ages and genders communicate, allowing her to internalize the language as a vibrant, emotional expression rather than mere dialogue.
“I also met a group of schoolgirls who playfully corrected my pronunciation; their warm approach made me feel included in their world. These small yet impactful moments helped me portray the character more authentically, and I can’t wait to share it with the audience!”
Regarding the show, “Saru” is broadcast daily at 7:30 PM on Zee TV.
