Agartala, April 21 (NationPress) The chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat, on Tuesday took part in the Prana Pratishtha ceremony for the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple located in Mohanpur, West Tripura.
This consecration event, which took place at Fakira Mura in Mohanpur, saw the presence of notable dignitaries including Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma, and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha. The ceremony coincided with the celebration of Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti.
On X, Chief Minister Saha expressed, “Today, in the esteemed presence of the revered Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Shri Mohan Bhagwat Ji, at Mohanpur, I took part in the consecration and the sacred Kumbhabhisheka ceremony of the statue of Ma Soundarya Chinmoyee, crafted from a single granite stone that stands 15 feet tall, which was installed on the grounds of Chinmoy Mission School.”
He further mentioned, “In this beautiful and open setting, surrounding the statue are 27 pillars embellished with verses from Shri Adi Shankaracharya’s timeless Soundarya Lahari and significant teachings, which will contribute to nurturing auspicious thoughts and reflections on our cosmic link.”
“I am confident that this sacred site will soon be recognized as a premier centre for spiritual, contemplative, devotional, and cultural inspiration, alongside educational pursuits,” the Chief Minister remarked.
Amit Rakshit, President of the Chinmaya Seva Trust under Chinmaya Mission International, stated that both the Prana Pratishtha and Kumbha Abhishekam rituals were performed during the event, which is anticipated to attract devotees and spiritual seekers from across the region.
Rakshit explained that the temple is a distinctive spiritual edifice dedicated to Maa Tripura Sundari. Built using 27 black stone pillars from Tamil Nadu, the architecture symbolizes the 27 Nakshatras in Hindu astrology.
The temple is uniquely designed without a traditional roof, symbolizing an unobstructed connection with the divine. The sanctum houses a 15-foot black stone idol of the deity, along with a smaller idol inspired by the renowned Tripura Sundari Temple for daily worship.
Additionally, the temple complex features inscriptions of Saundarya Lahari and other devotional texts, enhancing its spiritual and cultural importance. Priests from Nepal, selected through a stringent process, conducted the rituals to ensure authenticity and traditional compliance.
Tuesday’s ceremony represented a pivotal moment in the spiritual landscape of Tripura, merging devotion, heritage, and architectural beauty. With the presence of national leaders and spiritual figures, Fakira Mura is set to become a central point of faith and cultural pride.
