Varanasi, April 30 (NationPress) On the significant day of Akshaya Tritiya, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Mohan Bhagwat took part in a remarkable mass kanyadaan ceremony for 125 girls during the Akshaya Kanyadan Mahotsav held at Shankul Dhara in Varanasi on Wednesday.
Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, along with Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Nandi and Baby Rani Maurya, were also in attendance.
The event drew hundreds of attendees. Bhagwat not only conducted the kanyadaan but also honored a tribal Dalit by worshipping his feet at the mandap. An emotional moment unfolded when the Sangh chief referred to a bride as his daughter, urging the groom to cherish her.
Virendra Jaiswal, the Sangh's regional head for eastern Uttar Pradesh, remarked, “It was God's grace that our family received this blessing. When God wishes, it happens.”
Aman, a tribal Dalit whose wedding was officiated by Bhagwat, expressed his joy, stating, “I am thrilled with my marriage. I didn't know the people who arranged it. He advised us to live well together.” Aman further mentioned that he never anticipated such a grand celebration for his wedding.
Aman's father shared with IANS, “Today, my son's wedding was extraordinary. I never dreamed it would happen this way. I feel overjoyed with the blessings we received.”
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya tweeted photos from the event, stating, “I attended the auspicious wedding ceremony and Akshay Kanyadan Mahotsav of Shri Vibhav at Shankuldhara Kund cum Dwarkadhish premises, Varanasi. Dignitaries such as Hon'ble Member Legislative Council Shri Hansraj Vishwakarma, Mayor Shri Ashok Tiwari, BJP’s Metropolitan President Shri Pradeep Agrahari, Hon'ble MLA Shri Tribhuvan Ram, and District Panchayat President Smt Poonam Maurya were also present.
